Les Stuart

Guest speaker at IMM42 Sunday Tech Sessions

Les Stuart is the owner of Big Daddy’s Motor Cars in Morgan Hill, California. Les has been wrenching on classic Ford muscle cars and British cars for 48 years. He is a 28-year veteran of the high-tech industry, twenty-three of which were spent in business development, as a engineer, a product line manager, and marketing manager in the management divisions of several Fortune 500 companies. Many of the skills acquired Les is able to bring to the automotive work his company performs for others. The company, Big Daddy’s Motor Cars (BDMC), is laser focused on 64 – 70 Mustangs. As he will tell you there is a huge market catering to the needs and desires of classic Mustang lovers. That market is strong, and yet it is still evolving … ask him.

Les has had several 69’s, and 67’s in the past. His first 69 Mach I was stolen after years of work … and street racing. Les currently owns the Pit Viper, the Boss, a 67 Fastback and a 65 Coupe. As a member of the Blue Oval gang, he will tell you “He bleeds Blue”. Les sees the Mustang as a great canvas to create functional art from. Aesthetics are important, and drivability is critical for the builds from Les and BDMC. They like to say … “We don’t build show cars, We build Go cars”.

His results speak loudly. The first GT500e from BDMC besides being a regularly driven car that turns heads everywhere, it has also been tracked several times as Les has a karting, and autocross background. Performance and handling are key to Les, as he and others truly enjoy the distinction one gets in driving a classic Mustang. His Pit Viper has garnered 49 awards, some very prestigious, but for Les the best was “The Nod” from the countries top builders (Foos, Kindig, Ring Brothers, Shine, and other) many with whom he now works with.

Having worked with most all vendors making Mustang components, Les and BDMC have a good taste for what works, and what doesn’t. Though BDMC is performing upgrades and doing restorations, building restomods is where they shine. Bringing decades of experience Les’s shop provides a modern driving vehicle with classic looks. His shop provides ideas on performance, handling, braking, etc., as they detail the Mustang of peoples dreams. Whether it be a high-torque engine or more horsepower, modern electronics, better handling, or body modifications, Les and Big Daddy’s Motor Cars can accommodate all.
